Level 2 NVQ Certificate In Wall And Floor Tiling

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the knowledge, skills and competence of individuals who work in this specialised area of the construction industry.

The main objective of this qualification is to demonstrate the learner’s occupational competence as a Tiler. Completing this work-related, competence-based qualification will provide confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes that learners have the skills and knowledge needed to meet the national standard to carry out the role of a Wall and Floor Tiler.

This qualification enables learners to gain recognition for their skills and the potential to take on more responsibility in the workplace.

The awarding organisation for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).

The specification for these qualifications has been approved by the Welsh Government for use by centres in Wales and by the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) for use by centres in Northern Ireland.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification.

ASQSL will carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.

ASSESSMENT METHOD

Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge described in the units.
Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

The number of units to be completed varies by pathways but all the pathways consist of the following mandatory units in addition to the pathway’s specific units:

    • Conforming to productive working practices in the workplace
    •  Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
    • Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
    • Preparing Backgrounds to Receive Wall and/or Floor Tiling in the Workplace
    • Tiling Wall and Floor Surfaces in the Workplace

 

Candidates who achieve the requirements for qualifications will be awarded:

  • A certificate listing all units achieved, and
  • A certificate giving the full qualification title:
