The Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Construction) qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working in the construction industry who want to specialise in plastering.
You will learn how to complete a variety of detailed plastering tasks including repair work as well as developing your ability to interpret information by working out materials required and costings for a variety of projects.
As a trained plasterer, you could work on housing sites, city developments, domestic extensions and conservatories, new work, conversions or repairs. You might want the security of site work or possibly branch out on your own, become self-employed and start your own business.
The awarding organisation for this qualification is ProQual Awarding Body and the regulatory body is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
The specification for these qualifications has been approved by the Welsh Government for use by centers in Wales and by the Council for the Curriculum Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) for use by centres in Northern Ireland.

ASSESSMENT METHOD
There are four pathways for this qualification and candidates are expected to choose which of the pathways that is most relevant to their skills.
The pathways are:
- Pathway 1 – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Solid)
- Pathway 2 – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Fibrous)
- Pathway 3 – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Heritage Plastering – Solid)
- Pathway 4 – Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Plastering (Heritage Plastering – Fibrous)
Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge described in the unit.
Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.
Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
