Blue CSCS card requirements, and the NVQ for your trade
What CSCS asks for
- A construction related NVQ at Level 2, or a completed apprenticeship.
- A pass in the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last two years, at the level for your job.
CSCS says the card lasts five years. If you have the experience but no NVQ yet, CSCS points you to the Experienced Worker card. These are CSCS's rules: read the CSCS Skilled Worker card page.
Your route with us, step by step
- Phone us. Tell us your trade; we find the NVQ that matches it.
- Enrol and pay: half when you register and half when your certificate is ready, or in full at the start.
- Your assessor visits your site and watches you work.
- Book and pass the CITB test at the level for your job.
- Apply to CSCS for your card with your certificate.
